En Skype werkt ook perfect, dus voor mij geen Viber!
As I explained above, yes, we collect *only* names and phone numbers, but it is used *only* for functional reasons. Without uploading this information to our servers, some of the most basic features of Viber will not work.
We will never sell or deliver this information to third-parties, so you don't need to worry about this info in our servers. Also, as stated in our privacy policy, any user may delete that information instantly by deactivating Viber (in Settings).
All this information is clear and transparent, and can be found in our official Privacy Policy page: http://www.viber.com/privacypolicy.html -

First, it is important to be accurate – we only collect names and phone numbers, nothing else. Naturally, we collect users' information not because we are curious of its content, but for functional reasons, and in order for us to enable the service we, as a company, promise to provide. Without that information, Viber cannot function. This is not different from any other major social network/communication service provider in our world nowadays.
I would like to clarify: we *do not* and will never sell users' information to third-parties, and we keep this information well locked in our servers, with extremely limited access to it
In addition, deactivating your account will instantly delete all of your information from our servers, so the power is in the user's hands.
If you still have any more questions or doubts, please let me know :)
Dank je wel,
Viber. -
